Organization: It's An Essential.

Hey Bloggers!

I hope everyone's weekend was great, mine was full of work, work and more work. Working 20+ hours in two days is not easy, especially when I have to do homework after my 9 hour shift, but this is the college life and no one said it was easy.

I try and plan my homework accordingly based on my work schedule, but every college student should have their backup plan. You may never know when you are invited to a last minute party or if a family emergency pops up, so be READY for any  unexpected turns.

Luckily, I did not have much homework this week, but I barely have time to breathe with everything else that is going on. Between going to the gym, work, my league and spending time with friends there is not enough time in the day to satisfy all of my needs. As I speak..well type, I am coming up with my homework plan. Try using my advice if you are on the same rollercoaster as me.
  • Have a planner: Male or female, everyone should keep a planner of events and assignments. My planner goes everywhere I go from school to work, even out to the movies with me. I never leave home without it.
I like to purchase the planners that have a monthly calendar as well a weekly calendar so that I am aware of what is due and how much time I have to complete it. I write down my homework as it is fed to me so that I never forget what I need to do and by when. I even highlight my courses and the important assignments that I write down so that way they are noticeable to me. In terms of work, I write down my schedule, so that if other events pop up I know what days I am working and what days I can make plans with friends.

  •  Make a "To Do List" for your homework due that week: If you have not noticed, I am a very organized person and I do not like handing my assignments in late.
Besides my planner, I write down what homework I need to complete for the week and what days I plan on completing it on a piece of notebook paper (although, this usually changes depending on what activities I have planned for the week, so plan accordingly). In my list, I highlight what assignments are due on which days in different colors and I place this sheet in my planner so I do not lose it.

  • Have a day off of classes and work? PERFECT: I have Fridays off of class as well as work so I like to do as much homework as I can on Fridays.
Whatever homework I don't finish on Fridays, I will do on Saturday and Sunday nights after I get out of work, reminding you this is after my 9 hour shifts, so I am always exhausted. This is the reason why I like to complete all of my homework on Fridays or during the week as they are assigned to me. Do NOT wait last minute. Becoming overwhelmed and drained is definetly not a great feeling. I would be an expert at that.

Was this helpful to some of you stressors?
I hope that this information helped all of you in organizing your homework and other important dates and events that may occur in your schedules. Work at your own pace, but in a timely manner. This takes much time and practice to succeed at. Learn what you do well and what you need to work on to better yourself and your habits. From experience, I know that is not easy and that's why I write this blog.

As you can tell, this week I was all about the homework and less about the relationship. Good or bad? You decide.

Sincerely yours,

  2. I totally agree with KKsez! I think being organized helps you succeed, if I didn’t have a planner I would forget what I would have to do for homework. You might think you don't need to write things down and you will remember later on but that’s not true. So yes having an organizer or a To-Do list is helpful.
