So Close, Yet So Far

Hey Bloggers!

So, I can’t believe that we have about three weeks left of classes! The weeks and even months have been flying by so quickly, which means the next three weeks will be the longest three weeks of the entire semester. This semester hasn’t been easy, but I am determined to do the best I can, which is always what I strive for.

I hope that everyone’s Thanksgiving break was great, mine wasn’t too bad. I know my favorite part was going black Friday shopping from 10PM-7AM. I got an awesome 40” HDTV for under $300.00 and I only waited four hours for it. For once, I didn’t buy something for myself; I bought it for my dad as his Christmas present. Besides the TV, I got a lot of other good deals too, nothing amazing though. Did anyone else venture out on Black Friday? If not, there is always “Cyber Monday” or commonly known today as, “Cyber week”. I liked the rush and excitement of shopping all night into morning and the crowds of people made it even more thrilling.

Another thing to talk about is the weather and how AMAZING it was today. If you ask me it sure didn’t feel like the end of November. But, who’s complaining because I would rather it be 65 degrees and sunny than 30 degrees and windy. I only enjoy the winter when it snows, because there is something about the snow that makes me feel calm, safe and warm. I am kind of excited for winter, but kind of hoping it doesn’t get too chilly. I guess we will just have to wait and see now won’t we?

Lastly, I am going to speak about the “real” topic of my blog. Is it a bad thing to spend over $400.00 on a boyfriend or girlfriend for the holidays? Let’s say one bought a $440.00 64g iPhone and the other one bought a $700.00 trip to Disney. Is this a good thing or will it eventually turn into a messy issue? We are debating whether or not to buy eachother another gift to give to one another on Christmas or if we spent enough. Is trying to be nice and considerate a horrible thing? Things like this make me think if I am crazy and totally out of my mind. What would you all say about this?

         Sincerely yours,

  1. I went black friday shopping too but I was selfish and ended shopping mostly for myself. I found some really good deals and it was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be. And you are absolutely right, this semester went by so much faster than usual but these last three weeks are going to be brutal. Good Luck -V

  2. Christmas is about spending time with family and friends. Money just get's in the way of everything! I have always bought my bf something within my means(College student working part time) and he always love what I give him. It's about the thought not the monetary value. When we are all older and have great jobs with an awesome salary(This college this has got to pay off right?) then spend a little extra on gifts. =)
